"One Day Cultural Fest" A Day - Long Journey

“One Day Cultural Fest” took participants on a journey of diversity on Sunday, March 17th, at Farm Cultural Park in Favara. Organized by the association Ring – Beyond Borders, the event shone in its ability to promote cultural exchange in a lively and interactive manner.

The initiative is part of the “Community Youth Incubators” program, promoted within the framework of BeYou, a project co-funded by the European Commission and coordinated by the Community Foundation of Agrigento and Trapani.

One Day Cultural Fest engaged a large number of people, including Ring volunteers and activists, Farm visitors, and residents of Favara.

Let’s make “Tajine”

One of the most memorable activities was the “Tajine” drawing session. Asking participants to imagine and then draw this iconic dish was an original way to stimulate creativity and connect with North African culinary culture. The subsequent cooking class added a tangible touch to the experience, allowing participants to learn how to prepare the dish and savor it, thus immersing themselves in the gastronomic traditions of the North African regions.

Paint the “Stranger” Next to You

The event culminated in a painting and photography workshop, where we painted our travel companions. This exercise harnessed creativity and the sharing of personal experiences, forging deep bonds among participants.

“Through these activities, I experienced a sense of global connection and an open-mindedness that enriched me culturally in ways I never imagined. For those looking to organize a similar activity, I highly recommend carefully planning every detail, ensuring a variety of engaging and interactive experiences to stimulate participation and foster mutual understanding,” said Carla Bartoli, the young leader of the initiative.

Carla Bartoli believes that the diversity of activities, such as those proposed during events like One Day Cultural Fest, is a potential key to a multicultural society. These activities can cross boundaries, offering individuals the chance to explore cultures in unique and meaningful ways.
